World Kidney Day 13th March 2008- Amazing Kidneys
The 3rd annual health day which aim to raise awareness of the importance of our kidneys and that kidney disease is common, harmful and treatable. About one adult in ten have some form of kidney damage. Every year millions die prematurely of heart attacks and strokes linked to chronic kidney disease (CKD). It is more common in the elderly and Asian and Black populations.
